Soda Rooftop redefines coastal dining through understated elegance, avoiding typical beachside tropes. Warm textures, natural tones and refined detailing frame panoramic views from shoreline to hills. Guided by clarity and calm sophistication, the interior celebrates Glenelg’s coastline with quiet precision.
The design responds to the client’s brief for a distinctive yet welcoming rooftop dining venue, with a strong connection to Glenelg’s coastal setting. Panoramic views to the shoreline and Adelaide Hills are framed as a central part of the dining experience.
Working within an existing footprint and limited balcony area, the project required inventive spatial planning to maximise efficiency and functionality. A layered layout balances openness and intimacy through varied seating typologies, including banquettes, flexible dining areas and a sculptural bar, supported by clear circulation and spatial clarity.
A curated material palette introduces warmth, texture and tonal contrast, enhancing sensory and acoustic comfort. Together, spatial planning and materiality create a cohesive, contemporary dining environment that balances functional performance with a refined spatial experience.
