Located south of Adelaide, the Willunga Recreation Park, a longstanding community complex, has undergone a significant transformation with the redevelopment of its facilities.
Established in 1875 and located in the heart of Willunga, the Willunga Recreation Hub now stands as a modern, versatile complex that caters to a range of sporting, active recreation, and community activities.
The redevelopment of the Willunga Recreation Hub involved a major upgrade of the existing facilities including the construction of new toilet and change room amenities. These facilities were carefully designed to accommodate the needs of both Recreation Park users and the public during various events, both during and outside regular hours. A new sheltered viewing pavilion extends from the amenities, oriented for views to the sporting fields, with terraced steps up to the outdoor deck doubling as seating for spectators.
The placement of the new amenities building was done with careful consideration of the local surroundings, and the use of locally sourced materials further contributes to its harmonious integration into the community.
With its upgraded facilities and thoughtful design, the Willunga Recreation Hub serves as a vibrant and inclusive hub for the local community.
